Acre, a historic port city in northern Israel with a rich cultural and historical heritage, has suffered from neglect and deterioration in recent years. Despite its UNESCO World Heritage recognition and important landmarks, such as the Citadel of Acre and the Al-Jazzar Mosque, the majority of buildings in the old city are in disrepair. The lack of tourism infrastructure, sanitation issues, unsupervised food stalls, and horse manure on the streets are clear indications of the city’s decline and neglect. It is essential that the government and city officials take immediate action to address these issues and allocate resources to restore Acre to its former glory as a clean and safe city for residents and visitors alike.
