Boeing Predicts Resilient Growth and Increased Demand for Aircraft Finance in 2023

March 16, 2023 By admin Leave a Comment

Boeing has released its 2023 Commercial Aircraft Finance Market Outlook (CAFMO), predicting increased growth and resiliency in aircraft finance, with financing needs reaching near pre-pandemic levels in 2023. The report assesses market dynamics and financing sources for new commercial airplane deliveries and shows that 100% of commercial deliveries have been funded by third parties over the past three years. While cash funding will continue to play a significant part in delivery financing, the use of capital markets, bank debt, and export credit is expected to expand. The report also notes that demand for domestic air travel is recovering strongly across a number of regions, with international traffic gaining momentum as restrictions ease, tracking to return to pre-pandemic levels by 2023 to 2024.
