STARLUX Airlines Opens a New Gateway from Ontario to Taipei

February 11, 2025 By admin Leave a Comment

Ontario International Airport has recently been abuzz with the exciting announcement that STARLUX Airlines will commence nonstop service to Taipei, Taiwan, beginning on June 2, 2025. The Taipei-based carrier will launch a schedule that operates four times a week—departing from Terminal 4 at 11:10 p.m. local time on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, and arriving at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport at 4:15 a.m. two days later. Return flights are equally well-timed, leaving Taipei at 8:05 p.m. local time and touching down at ONT’s International Arrivals Terminal at 5:05 p.m. on the same day. The new service, which employs the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900, boasts a configuration of 306 seats distributed across four first-class, 26 business class, 36 premium economy, and 240 economy positions, ensuring that travelers can experience an elevated level of comfort regardless of their chosen class. In addition to connecting Southern California’s Inland Empire directly with Taiwan, STARLUX Airlines will also facilitate convenient transfers from its Taipei hub to numerous key destinations throughout East and Southeast Asia, including popular stops in Vietnam, the Philippines, and Hong Kong. This development not only reinforces the airport’s strategic importance as a dynamic gateway but also provides an enhanced travel experience that harmonizes luxury, efficiency, and global connectivity.

The news of this new route comes on the heels of record-breaking international travel numbers at Ontario International Airport, which saw a 5.1% increase in 2024 with a total of 438,896 international passengers—a milestone that underscores the region’s growing stature as a travel hub. Local airport officials and community leaders have expressed genuine appreciation for STARLUX’s trust in the facilities and personnel at ONT, emphasizing the shared commitment to bolstering Southern California’s reputation as a premier travel destination. Alan D. Wapner, president of the Ontario International Airport Authority Board of Commissioners, highlighted that Greater Ontario serves as the perfect launchpad into the wider world, thanks to its robust infrastructure and strategic location. By introducing this direct service, the airport not only anticipates a further boost in international traffic but also looks forward to enhanced cultural and economic exchange, as travelers enjoy seamless access to Asia’s vibrant markets and tourist attractions. The new route is poised to cement Ontario’s status as a pivotal transit point while offering a uniquely sophisticated travel experience that reflects the high standards and innovative spirit of both the airport and STARLUX Airlines.
